This week I had the pleasure of talking to a fellow podcast/talk radio host and behavioral health manager at the Imperial County Behavioral Health Services, my guest for episode 124 was Scott Dudley. I’ve been trying to get Scott on the Podcast because, one I enjoy talking to other podcast hosts and two I’ve never had someone on the podcast that can talk to us about mental health and Scott has a lot of experience in this field. For those of you who don’t know Scott is the co-host of a weekly radio show called “Let’s Talk About It”. Along with Maria Wyatt he’s been on the air for the past 18 years talking about mental health issues affecting our community. People can listen to them through the radio or through their podcast links. Besides talking about his radio show we also talked about how we ended up in the field he is in. Growing up in Michigan, a couple of blocks away from the legendary Irvin “Magic” Johnson and watching him play high school basketball, ending up in the Imperial Valley was never something he imagined would happen. I’m not really sure how he ended up in the Imperial Valley, I think I forgot to ask him that. After being disappointed in the way our students are being taught he decided to look for another way to help out our community and he ended up trying a couple of things before ending up in ICBHS.
