Today I had the pleasure of chatting with Nurse Amy Corrales. I started following Nurse Amy on Instagram almost since day one. Nurse Amy grew up and graduated from Calipatria and got interested in nursing after at the age for 16 she had the pleasure of assisting one of her cousins with one of her aunts who was paralyzed from the neck down and felt this gratitude and fulfillment. She came back to school and asked her counselor what she could do to prepare herself for a career in nursing. Amy joined the IVROP her senior year of high school and then continued her education at Imperial Valley College during this time she also volunteered at El Centro Regional Medical Center. People noticed her hard work and dedication and offered her a job even though she was not done with her schooling and licensing but as soon as she got all her things in order she took the job. Nurse Amy has been in the nursing field for over 18 years now and although she might not be dealing with patients in the hospital setting she is helping patients with the business side of nursing. Nurse Amy recently started posting videos and other information on her Instagram page that she hopes helps out our community.
